Feature Friday: The Chocolate Hot Pockets

Feature Friday: The Chocolate Hot Pockets

With The Chocolate Hot Pockets’ latest release “The Feast” being celebrated and performed live tomorrow at Mercury Lounge, Bytown Sound wanted to join in on the excitement: so we dove into the newest videos for tracks off of the release in hopes of catching a glimpse of what kind of awesomeness we’re all in for.

As expected, CHP absolutely delivers. These tracks are bursting at the seams with so much groove, jazz and funk that they make it nearly impossible to sit still in your seat. It’s soulful, it’s hypnotic, and at times it’s just downright seductive. There is nothing about this band that is predictable, which is really a testament to their ability to expertly compose and arrange tunes crossing over multiple genres.

There is never a dull moment with the Chocolate Hot Pockets: but don’t take our word for it, get out to the Mercury Lounge tomorrow at 9pm and see for yourself. If you didn’t get tickets ahead of time ($10), get there early cause word on the street is the tickets are limited and selling quickly ($15@ the door). Soft Planet are opening (https://www.facebook.com/softplanetband/), with Resident DJ Trevor Walker and visuals by Matt Cameron. This is a show you don’t want to miss.

Until then, you can feast your eyes and ears on this tasty tune:
