The Wilderness are coming to Ottawa to play at Cafe Dekcuf with Paper Ladies, The Maximum Chill and Motherland.
Show: 8:00 pm
The Wilderness was born from the words of Dick Prenicke, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Charles Bukowski, Irvine Welsh and other prolific 20th century writers. Through dedication and optimism, The Wilderness has completed the transformation from 4 university students to a fully formed indie rock band. With influences spanning an esoteric musical spectrum, The Wilderness will continue to reinvent itself and seek to draw in an audience that can handle the ride.
Though they lack in numbers, they make up for it with their wall of sound. Combining cascading psychedelic delays, dripping reverbs, droning bass synth, and lo-fi grit, PAPER LADIES delivers a sonic blast that can be heard for miles.
The Maximum Chill:
Fully formed in July 2017, The Maximum Chill is the most alternative “alternative rock” band you’ve never heard of. They combine musical elements of rock, jazz, and modern classical with a lyrical style that is somewhere between comedic satire and social commentary. When performing, they aim to fully captivate audiences with props, musical improvisation, harsh lyrics and general zaniness to get any kind reaction out of them be it of joy, awe, or pure disgust.
Back to the Motherland is an alternative rock band from Canada’s capital influenced by contemporary genres such as blues, punk, and underground experimentation.
