On Canada Day, Aella will present Untraveled Worlds, a 45-minute concert featuring the works of some of Canada’s most popular composers.
Admission will be by donation – come downtown and join us on your way to the Hill! Refreshments will be served downstairs before and after the show, courtesy of First Baptist Church.
Aella is a women’s choir composed of advanced singers from the national capital region, which performs without a conductor. Founded by Jennifer Berntson, the group came together to sing exciting and compelling pieces from the women’s repertoire.
This all-Canadian programme will include everything from songs by Joni Mitchell & the Wyrd Sisters to choral favourites by Eleanor Daley & Stephen Hatfield. Aella is thrilled to be singing with Shawn Potter on piano, Tessa Bangs on violin, and Adele Marsland on flute.
