Travelling Tales – Bringing the stories to you
Each month RedLeaf Music presents a new artist travelling through Ottawa, bringing their tales from the road. The artists are travelling and the series travels, from venue to venue.
Hosted by socially-conscious folk artist Christophe Elie, enjoy an evening of visual art, spoken word and music.
Featured artist this month: Kate Weekes, who just returned from a winter spent dog mushing in Norway!
“Kate Weekes has the ability to capture the Canadian state of being with deftly placed imagery like a painter covers the canvass in extraordinary colour. Kate can use a few well-placed words to describe the most complex of ideas in the most transparent way. Totally an engaging human being, she is one of the new generations of young artists that have shaken the older generation of songwriters and music fans with clarity of purpose.”
-Mitch Podolak, Home Routes
Alisha Tashan Davidson is a gifted spoken word poet. Not only will she share her poetry with us, she’s bringing along Dylan Watts to play guitar for something new and exciting from this wonderful creative soul!
“My songwriting is a candle for me, it casts a different kind of light on life, it challenges me to think further, to take an idea to a different level.” Christophe Elie
Noted for his passionate performances and edgy vocal style, Elie’s music challenges the listener with its message, encouraging change.
