Unfortunately, Petrov’s Dogs can’t make it but luck shines on the fortunate and I couldn’t be happier to announce that our friends at Police n’ Thieves have agreed to play. They are veterans of the Ottawa scene who have come together to pay tribute to the only band that matters, the Clash. Diotones will start things with some killer punk rock, with Sonic Defence bringing their unique brand of indie to close out the night. Really looking forward to this!
Nothing to be taken too seriously. Just five guys who enjoy playing the old punk tunes. Expect to hear some Ramones, Sex Pistols, Cramps, Clash, Misfits, Buzzcocks, Stooges, Dead Boys, Damned… Maybe some oddball non-sense, and possibly an original or two (if we ever get around to it). Nothing that’s going to change the music world, but hopefully a somewhat credible capture of the spirit of early punk.
We enjoy playing it. If you enjoy listening, feel welcome to hang out at a show. If you don’t enjoy it, cool. Go do something you enjoy. We don’t care either way.
4 guys who have converged in Ottawa with a love for music and desire to share it with the world. This best describes the musical artists that make up the diverse background that is ‘The Sonic Defense’. Whether it’s a song about the trials and tribulations of life, past joys remembered, or a great cover song that we feel the world deserves to hear. The Sonic Defense bring 110% to their shows where the #1 priority is to entertain the crowd with their unique blend of indie, folk, power pop, alt-country music.
Police n’ Thieves:
Roots, rock and reggae in the brilliant style of the Clash. Rebel rockers giving it their all ! Not to be missed.
