Drawing inspiration from the golden age of 60’s and 70’s soul rock and funk, The Split was formed by brothers Matthew and Curtis Chaffey in Ottawa, Canada. Their new old soul sound is in command of a convincing new wave of old soul revival — an electronic style of soul with the stirrings to be music-changing. Progressive electronica layered to build on soulfulness, The Split’s music is atmospheric and highly danceable.
The Riot Police:
The Riot Police are a four-piece Pop Rock band formed in Ottawa, Canada, in 2007. The group was formed by Alex Boyd (Lead Vocals, Bass, Guitar), and grew to include Max Gibson (Guitars, Vocals, Bass), Riley Hawkins (Guitars, Vocals), and Taylor Harris (Drums). Drawing early musical influences from acts like Coldplay, Kings of Leon, and The Killers, their sound has evolved over the passed decade into an arsenal of strong anthemic Indie Rock songs with catchy Pop hooks to keep you moving and singing along.
Before even officially releasing their new album ‘Movement’, the band was included in 2017s Junofest and RBC Bluesfest (Ottawa), as well as performed at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto), Blacksheep Inn (Wakefield), and Théatre Corona (Montreal).
With no signs of stopping, The Riot Police will be on the move in 2018. ‘Movement’ will be available on all major digital platforms March 23rd, and available for pre-release a month in advance on February 23rd.
