Canadian singer-songwriters OceanSun will be performing at Irene’s Pub. The Ottawa born band will be showcasing originals from their newest album “We Are…” and pop-rock favorites.
OceanSun was born when two orphaned musicians found each other through the magic of song-creation. Anne provides the deep, powerful vocals of the band and the soulful lyrics that spawns from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Phil’s natural and technical musical talents shines in his ability to translate storytelling into musical pieces varying in complexity and synchronicity. He is responsible for the project’s sound, through the musical arrangements, instrumentation and production. Anne’s influences predominantly stems from pop/rock, female, power vocals of the 60s to the 90s, while Phil’s influence include progressive rock, hard rock and other off the grid sounds. Two unlikely melodists merge to create a pleasantly, wistful sound described as “sad songs put with an upbeat tempo”. The result of creating from what comes from the inner and manifest, without judgement into production.
