Live Music Weekends in January @ Heart & Crown Preston

Thursday, January 3 – Supersonics Duo

Friday & Saturday, January 4 & 5 – Kattika:

Kattika originated with 3 founding members of Monday’s Grace, a hugely popular band on the local Ottawa bar/club circuit. With the addition of Halifax-native Chris Nantes on vocals/guitar and most recently Ottawa raised Phil Rocco on “amazing guitar wizardry”, they have been rocking a number of different events around Ottawa- full band shows in large club venues, duo shows in smaller pubs, and a number of private shows such as corporate events, weddings and private parties.

Thursday, January 10 – Jevon Rudder:

Traditionally known for is soulful rock ballads, Jevon has finally made the move to country. “I have always loved Country, but just never thought a young Black man from Toronto would be taken seriously in the field.” Jevon would love to bring Country back to a black audience. And with his powerful vocals, insightful lyrics, and smooth style, he is the closest thing to an “inclusionary” voice that we have heard in a very long time. A voice destined to Rock the New Country Charts, for a very long time.

Friday & Saturday, January 11 & 12 – Sunstrum + Winds:

Drawing musical inspiration from her Afro-Canadian roots and a very migratory upbringing, singer-songwriter Kimberly Sunstrum emerged in the music scene with a unique perspective and sound.

This unconventional and nomadic upbringing has enabled Kimberly Sunstrum to bring a candid, exotic style of lyricism to her music, one that is fuelled by catchy lyrics, infectious melodies, and solid rhythms.

Thursday, January 17 – Boogie Gnome:

Ottawa based. Covering classic rock, funk, disco, alternative, pop hits.

Friday & Saturday, January 18 & 19 – Dance Commander:

Funk and Disco Cover Band, dedicated to filling dance floors and dropping beats.

Thursday, January 24 – Alanna Sterling Duo:

Alanna Sterling is a multi-talented singer/songwriter born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her original sui generis music combines rock’n’roll, jazz-blues and folk tones with her powerful voice, diverse instrumental ability and uniquely crafted lyrics to create a sound that is unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Friday & Saturday, January 25 & 26 – leMeow:

Described by Alan Cross as “sultry coolness,” leMeow is soul-infused indie pop smothered in sass.

Thursday, January 31 – Kyle Ivan Duo:

Kyle Ivan is a refreshing new face to the singer-songwriter scene in Ottawa, Canada. Often compared to such talents as Shawn Mendes, Passenger, and Bruno Mars, Kyle’s lyrics range from elation to heartbreak, entwined in pop-infused melodies. He is no stranger to the stage playing over 100 shows every year. Whether it’s a dead silent room listening to his story while sitting on the floor, or someone from the crowd pouring a beer down his throat after an improvised verse, he delivers. Keep an eye out for Kyle this summer as he tours Ontario, PEI, and Europe, followed by the release of his debut EP in 2019.
