Going to be another great night. Featuring Kavita Thomas on vocals, Patrice Robinson on vocals and violin, and of course the birthday boy himself Horace Hogan. We have a great opening act, a blues band, Bent Up Good.
Steve Hambling is an Ottawa native who has played music professionally for over the last 40 years with 6 different bands. In the mid nineties Steve had just started a family and decided to put a musical career on ice, and for the last 20 years he has focused on raising two beautiful children and creating successful businesses.
Now at 60, he’s back with his latest project, Little Big Man and The Huge Groove. With his lifelong friend Andy Sommerfeld from The Shades on drums, Gerry Vartiniuk who has been the keyboard player for Steve’s last three bands, Ross McCrae from The Five Man Electrical Band and young Shawn Leadston on guitars, Horace Hogans on percussion, and Zeek Gross and Kelly Craig Ottawa’s premier horn section, Steve has put together a tight unit that will provide a massive groove to highlight any lead vocalist.
The October 12th show at the British will feature 10 different vocalists spanning rock, jazz, country, funk, and soul. Shawn Leadston, Eric Romanica, Mike Isherwood, Horace Hogans, Johnny Vegas, Rob Plowman, Iyono Ide, Sonia Ndongmo, Diana Keillor, and Steve himself will front the band with renditions of famous tunes like, Heard It Trough the Grapevine, Brickhouse, Mystery Train, Georgia On My Mind, Fly Me To The Moon, Lowrider, I Can’t Go For That, Gimme Shelter, and many more. It will be any amazing show and celebration not to be missed!
