Hamilton, Ontario based bluesman and JUNO Winner Steve Strongman is making waves internationally and at home in Canada. His breakthrough 2012 release “A Natural Fact” is being recognized as a standout blues & roots record with a whopping Three 2012 Maple Blues Awards (Recording, Songwriter & Guitarist Of The Year) of the Six for which it was nominated. The record was also recognized with the aforementioned JUNO AWARD for Blues Recording Of The Year and also took home the Canadian Folk Music Producer Of The Year Award (for Producer Rob Szabo). The reviews for this record have been raves including Penguin Eggs and Blues Underground Review who gush that “it is, by a long shot, the best Blues Album released in Canada for 2012”. “A Natural Fact” peaked in heavy rotation at #2 on the influential XM Sirius Satellite Station B.B. King’s Bluesville, which includes the biggest names in Blues past and present (BB King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt).
Listening to him is guitar paradise and it is this mastery of the instrument, along with dynamic songwriting, vocal and potent performance styles that set him apart. Having established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with, Strongman has quickly moved into the top ranks of Canadian Blues music, and is undeniably one of the most compelling young bluesmen in the scene today.
