Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, Julie Corrigan is a warm & soulful country singer/songwriter hailing from the small town of Shawville Quebec. Julie’s hometown has been a source of inspiration for many of her songs from her debut album The Language. Through memories of growing up on a farm along the Ottawa River, her songs tells stories of heartache, loss, tragedy and a longing for going home, and her warm country glow pulls you in with every note.
Lucila al Mar:
Lucila is a musician, artist, yogi and collaborator extraordinaire whose greatest passion is empowering the community and bringing people together through the creative arts. Within the same performance, this singer/songwriter captivates the audience with the ability to move between genres. From the gnarly defiant energy of punk rock to the lushness of folk music, into the soulful resonance of an acapella song. Small but mighty, this woman has a voice and a presence that easily breaks down barriers, celebrates humanity and fosters true connection. Lucila Al Mar dares to represent herself in the unambiguous light of her personal truths. Her debut album “Nada Es Para Siempre// Nothing is Forever” welcome’s you into the precious space of her life; to revel in the many ways human presence can be shared, the multitude of ways music and performance can beautify our experience of both life and death.
The album demonstrates a quantum leap in terms of the subtlety and craftsmanship of her songwriting, both musically and lyrically, and the reviews have been almost universally positive. With plans afoot to put on shows with a full band performing the music from the album, the next step on Carrie Martin’s remarkable journey from ‘housewife with a musical tale to tell’ to a genuinely respected name in the world of acoustic-based folk-rock music is well underway. And that is truly something to which she could only have been saying What If… not too many years before.
