Old Stereo combines the powerful and passionate vocals of Michael Jackson, 80’s melodies of Hall & Oates, R&B/soul vibes of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye with some Jimi Hendrix guitar pyrotechnics. The Old Stereo sound has also been described as a mix of the Dave Matthews Band and Steely Dan by Warren “Wiggy” Toll. The sound that results is undeniably Old Stereo. Their debut EP entitled Crossed the Line was recorded with Eric Eggleston at Johnny Hall Productions and released to critical acclaim in the Fall of 2012.Old Stereo’s second EP What It’s All About is scheduled for a summer 2015 release. An Old Stereo performance is an energetically and emotionally charged groove session that has coaxed even the most reserved audience members to get up and get their groove on. Come groove with us!
RBC Bluesfest Review of Bella Cat:
“Bella Cat arguably has the most enthralling, soulful voice in the area. Belting lyrics reminiscent of the great soul-blues singers of the past, the young woman from Old Chelsea, Quebec – which is about 15-minutes north of Ottawa – released a terrific debut EP this year entitled, Corrupted, which was reviewed earlier this year. While the blues, soul, and jazz arrangements are extremely well done and the melodies catchy like the sounds of the ’50s and ’60s, it is Bella Cat’s booming, powerful voice that completely overwhelms you.” – Ben Yung, May 28, 2014

Teaming up with writers Brian Asselin & David Gaw, Rebecca Noelle’s show delivered with a funk-driven fare, explores the music of an Armenian-Cree Canadian brought up in a family of military men & jazz music.
