A cross-country connection featuring THREE alumni from Season 2 of The Launch: Victoria BC’s Adrian Chalifour, Ottawa’s own Vi and Montreal’s James Clayton!
Victoria, BC-based singer-songwriter Adrian Chalifour has been performing heart-driven original music for more than 15 years, most notably as the founder and charismatic frontman of Towers and Trees, a solo home-recording project that grew into one of BC’s most notable indie bands.
Following a national TV appearance on Canadian TV show THE LAUNCH – where he earned high praise from icons Nile Rodgers and Bebe Rexha earlier this year – Adrian announced he was setting Towers and Trees aside to release his new full-length album under his own name.
JOY promises to be his most heart-filled record yet, with its four singles already receiving acclaim from media and fans alike. Produced by WCMA Producer of the Year Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Said The Whale), JOY is both sonically ambitious as it is lyrically profound and explores some of life’s most elemental human experiences, from love and family to upheaval and loss. Throughout it all, Chalifour reflects on a simple question: does everything return to joy?
Alt-pop artist, Vi, came to prominence in 2018 with her debut EP “blackwater”. Her dark melodies and intricate beats are guaranteed to draw you in. Vi has also recently been featured on CTV’s hit tv show, The Launch, where she had the opportunity to work with the legendary producer, Ryan Tedder. Ryan has worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, and the list goes on.
With the vast opportunities that Vi has experienced such as opening for bülow, and working with Ryan Tedder, she has lately taken her skills to the studio to cook up new material. A full album is expected to be released later this year – and it is expected to make a huge impact.
